Ok,here's the scenario..You have to survive for 365 days on a deserted island in order to win 5 million tax free dollars. Its not necesarily a tropical island, more like a north pacific island. You will be dropped off by helicopter with nothing but the clothes your wearing and 5 things you have been allowed to bring along. The island is about 3 square miles, with 2 freshwater springs on it.There is supposedly game animals on it also. What 5 things would you bring along?..I think i would bring (1)Swiss Army Rucksak knife (2)USMC Ka-bar (3)a 5 pack of Bic lighters (4)Ruger 10/22 with a brick of CCI Stingers (5)My 8 month old German Shepard...What would you guys bring?

It takes a lot more to survive than 5 items...

The thing is, even in warm tropical enviornment where cooking, shelter and warmth is easy to come by, one will be extremely uncomfortable.

Move towards a north pacific island, you are encountering weather that could get very cold. Move further up near the siberian islands and you have year-round icy conditions, winter and arctic storms, a scarcity of wood to burn.

The animals would be different as well. Seals, Polar bears... whatever survives in the arctic which means heavy skins and large animals which require larger caliber firearms.

Could the North Pacific Island be Japan? If that's the case, I want a duffel bag full of Levi's Jeans and lots of American Dollars.

4 to barter off as wives to the local tribal chiefs in exchange for supplies and food.

5 items and the clothes on your back? I don't think you could do it by remaining on the island in the North Pacific. The island described is about 2 miles in diameter. In watching the footage at Hill Air Force Base of the salvage of a B-24 from the Aleutians, that would be a beyond tough existence with 5 items and generic clothes.
