I can't figure out what to spend it on. I've been browsing blades all day. Any suggestions?

Maybe add $13.88 and get a black Victorinox Swisstool Spirit with sheath and free shipping. Probably my favorite multitool. Link.

gift cards are the most stupid thing ever made unless you get some money back when buying one. anyone that thinks a gift card is smarter then just cold hard cash has another thing comming! seriously, why limit yourself and/or the person you are trying to gift to with a card they can only use at one place which they will probally loose or never use at that one store? :jerk it:

I kind of like them. Cash always ends up being used on gas, food, bills etc.. long before I use the money to buy myself anything. Gift cards will sit there until I spend the money on something I can actually keep/use.

I've had my eye on some carving knives, could be a fun thing to get. I am pretty sure amazon has a set that comes with a book, knife and some wood. Should be good covered by $50. The multitool looks good too. Maybe some smaller SAKs or a Mora fixed blade. I'd say mix it up in any case, ie not a bunch of knives only(unless you buy one knife obviously). That or get something you think you'd like but are unsure of.

What are you looking for? something fun? Something practical? something you would never buy otherwise?

Looking for a "bushcrafty" knife. I've got a few Moras all ready but I guess a few more wouldn't hurt. Was looking at the Condor Bushlore but, eh, I duno.

If you don't already have one, a Sharpmaker 204 is just under $50 at Amazon and will serve you for a very long time on all your knives.

Hmmmmm... I have a gift card here for a book on basic written English. I wonder who would benefit from it?

.

I'd throw in a couple more bucks and get myself a lovely Becker BK-2. Then, I'd go get the thing dirty and post lots of pictures for my buddies at Blade Forums. :D

Yea, find a few more dollars and get a Becker BK-2. Best knife I own. Second to that is my Kershaw Blur which you can get the all black version for just a couple $ more also. Or get a Leatherman, I own a wave and like it but it was probably over $50 but they have cheaper models. And right at your price range is the Ka-Bar USMC knife, my second favorite fixed blade.

Thats all I can think of for that price range. Always can get the Spyderco Tenacious, Kershaw Leek, or a SOG Fusion or Cold Steel Tomohawk :). A lot of fun toys from Cold Steel.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

The Sharpmaker is my primary sharpener, love it. Might just end up kicking in a few extra $ for a BK-2. I'm also eyeing a Condor Hundson Bay ($35), Izula 1 ($51) , and Helle Eggen ($75).
