50 state collection?

Has any one ever done, or heard of, "a knife from each state" collection?
Might be a neat idea...
Montana, Florida, Hawaii & Mississippi are easy...
Too many good'ns to pick from in Arkansas...

I thought of this on the way home from work & thought I'd ask

There was an article in Blade magazine a while back, this guy had a Bowie from the first 50 ABS Master Smiths. I thought that was kind of cool.

Phil, I remember that article.
Joe Drouin, reknowned collector, has one collection where he has a knife of every Guild member who has passed away except for two he's still looking for. Kind of a memorium collection.
Personally, I've taken to collecting knives of makers I've become friends with and have been nice enough to talk and answer questions even when I wasn't buying.

That is kind of a joke among the makers at the Guild Show. You always go by Joe's table to make sure one of your knives is not in that section!

That's like the nightly joke where I work printing the NY Daily News. Some of the guys check the obits every night when they come in to see if their names there or if they have to work that night.
