K Gentlemen I need some help. I'm looking purchase an all purpose heavy use folder. Here is what I have a looked at so far the CRK Sebenza, umnumzaan, Hinderer skinner grind, Kingdom Armory full size production Samaritan. or a Mini Samaritan. Spyderco Southard or an actual Southard, I have even slightly entertained the Medford praetorian drop point or a micro praetorian though i would have to save a few more sheckles. lastly im on a list somewhere for a Koster Folding bushcraft. I really like the budget idea of a Doug Ritter Griptillian It seems like a really functional knife. I really like Oeser slip joints but I have to compete in auctions and lottos to try and get one of those...so that option may never happen.

My uses will be everything from Slash and Trashing boxes to field dressing game and slicing steaks and those times I eat out so a knife that is different and classy wont be a bad option. I am not one who believes a knife should hide in sage I believe they should be used and loved. also I would like to be able to maintain it myself. and it must hold an edge like crazy. I'm going to carry this knife daily so it should not pull my pants to the center of the earth and needs to be quality...lol

any opinions and recommendations are welcome thanks a ton.

Large aebenza with inlays that promote grip. The bare slabs are slippery and blood is more slippery than just being wet, mines a hand full of jelly slippery when wet with bare slabs. Micarta inlays would fix that, and not being the small one lol. The blades hold edges and the grind is the best I've used for cutting, and it's fairly easy to free hand on diamond stones. I have no clue about the others.

Check out the "Pig" by Red Blade Knives. It's heavy duty and quality.

Like Boris74 recommended, you cannot go wrong with a Sebenza.
My recommendation would be the Curtiss F3, if you can get your hands on one.
I did and haven't looked back since.
Edit- Um sorry - forgot about your $500 parameters.... go with the Sebenza -you'll be well within budget.

Umnumzaan for sure, theyre robust as hell, very easy to clean. Grippy if you get blood on the scales. Tip is a bit delicate but as long as your not prying

If the money is burning a hole in titanium it sure is hot!

What I would recommend is a folder for EDC and a fixed blade for fiend dressing. Don't need a folder getting all nasty and mucked up with that stuff. Honestly you could be well served with a fixed blade in something like 51200, which there are dozens of options. For the folder something simple like the Spyderco Gayle Bradley with customer scales would be perfect. It is classy, elegant, and with a fantastic steel to boot. Spend a little time to put a beautiful customized patina on it, and you might have an art worthy knife. Best part is that should still come in under your price cap.
