Hello all, Here's my Friday Buck knife... I have a 500 Duke limited edition, that was made for the San Diego Historical Society... This is for the 80th anniversary of the 1915 Panama California Exposition... The inlays are made from the wood flooring from the house of Hospitality in Balboa Park, San Diego...

Thanks for look, ITE...

Duke...

Beautiful etching! Striking grain in that wood! That's a nice work of art you have there!
Thanx for sharing.

A very handsome Duke. I've heard of that one just don't recall seeing one. Thanks, DM

The very first 'real' knife I ever owned was a Buck 'Duke' that my then girlfriend bought for me when I was a junior in high school, circa 1975/79 or so. I've never owned a Buck since, but I remember that one; nickel bolsters and (I believe) a rosewood handle, and I knew the moment that she gave it to me this was something beyond the flea market folders I had been sporting.

Thanks for the memories!

Thanks CF, for the cool story about your 500 Duke... They are a really good knife... I have a few of them and others here on the forum, have way more than me... ITE

Wow!

As someone who lived and worked in the Panama Canal Zone (stationed at Fort Clayton in the mid-90s) and has a deep interest in all things Panama Canal, just wow!

That is a sweet Duke for sure! I have never seen a black etched one let alone a gold ITE! Did they complete the run of 1000?
Thanks for the great pictures!

Gosh, that wood is beautiful.

How do you keep coming up with these things, ITE?

Well done.
