501/110/112 Spring Material

Does anyone know if the current production lock springs for the 501 are carbon or stainless? They are simple round bar springs, but it is hard to tell by looking at them. I would imagine that the 110 and 112 springs are probably the same material.

I doubt their carbon simply because I've never seen rust and some of mine never get cleaned or oiled. I've had a few out and they showed no signs of rust.

Agree. I've never seen a 110 with a rusty spring, either.

I've ordered a few of those from Buck and they look to be stainless. DM

I know I remember the answer being in a thread several years ago. Cant remember for sure, but wanna say its like 440A or something.
