Hello All, here's my Friday Buck Knives... I got this sweet 501+ at the swap meet with Hoffritz on the blade... I don't know much about it, but the guy worked for Buck at one time... I do need to clean it up... Looks like old oil on the blade... This is one cool Buck knife... Does anyone know anything about this knife???

Thanks for looking and any info about it... ITE

That is one very nice 501. Please take it to Leroy and he will know just where to send it. Thanks

Hoffritz is or was a high end knife shop with two shops in in NYC one in Manhatten and one out at JFK airport. Ileft NYC in 1980 so I don't no if they are still there. they sold all types of top quality cutting tools from sissors, kitchen knives & hunting and fishing knives

They had a couple here in South Texas as well, maybe more. They were located in our upper end (price wise) mall. As noted above, they sold only upper end stuff, mostly for the kitchen. IIRC, almost all of it was German made such as Wusthof, Boker, Henckels, etc. They haven't been here for many years.

Nice knife!

Robert

Edit: Found this after DAGS: http://preview.tinyurl.com/3vntqjs Apparently they have been gone almost 20 years. Read on down the page as there is a nice history of the company.
