Would like to know what years Buck used Micarta for 501s, did they only use Black micarta?

When the 501s were introduced in 1975 the handles were burgundy micarta and this continued until 1981 when birch handles were introduced. I don't think the 501s ever had black micarta.

Early 2019, DLT SFO with black linen micarta and s35vn

I didn't know that, but I was thinking of standard production knives. Thanks. The first time I saw SFO I didn't understand because I was thinking of SFO as the IATA (International Air Transport Association) location identifier for San Francisco International Airport, and I couldn't figure out what SFO had to do with knives. The same goes for CPR—when I see that my first thought isn't cardiopulmonary resuscitation, it's Casper International Airport; and for me, DIA isn't Defense Intelligence Agency, it's Denver International Airport. Sometimes it's better to use actual words.

Thank you all. Another question regarding the 501, when was the Script logo used for them?
