Hi Guys,
It's been a while since I've had anything to do with Schrade (other than using my penut on a daily basis). But, as with any good addiction, it lies dormant, it never really dies. Today, I was riding my bike (I've bought a Triumph Scrambler and become a bit of a motorcycle madman since I left) up in my old neighborhood and I stopped into Millwood Lumber to see if the old Schrade case was still around. Of course it wasn't, but the service was still good and they didn't let me waste much time looking for it. As I got back on my bike, an older gent came running into the parking lot to tell me he had a few Schrade knives in the stockroom. Turned out he only had two - a pair of 505SC's on the "Sharp Idea" hangers or "blister pack". I bought one with two skunks on the scale for $26.95 - no bargain from a collector's POV, but it's not stainless, so win-lose-or-draw, a high carbon steel stockman for under $30 is a good value any way you slice it.
Plus, it felt good to buy a Schrade in a hardware store again...

Great to hear from you Kevin! What have you been up to? The 505 you scored... Duck, pheasant, geese on the etch? Still got a few LB-7's? Have a good weekend.

thawk, it's the etch with a moma skunk followed by a baby skunk - that name I can never really read - starts with a "G" followed by what looks like"88"

Still have a solid supply of LB7s! 4-pins, in the white sleeves, later 3 pins, the works. I don't need to shop for LB7s ever again. I didn't sell off my favorites, just the stuff I had waaaaaaay too much of... I had over 40 LB7s - mostly post 1990s blue box stuff - and I let all that stuff go.

I started quietly collecting the older Schrade stuff along with some Queen (Schatt & Morgan), Case, etc... I'm still collecting all the American stuff.

Good hearing from you.

I guess the original post did say two skunks on the scale. I saw that, and at the time, it did not make sense to me, now I'm not sure why, hmmmmm. Some days .... no grain in the silo.
