My buddy is looking for a USA made knife for around $50 for a Christmas present to his cousin.

So far I've come up with:

Kershaw Blur
Kershaw RAM
Buck Vantage Pro

Any more suggestions? I'd say probably around a 3" blade or so.

buck vantage pro would be my pick... excellent knife for the price

Second that.

S30V blade, G10's, lifetime warr., for $50 ? Is there a better deal ?

Real nice knife. Price won't stay this low for long. JMHO

If you can find a RAM for $50,grab it.Otherwise I'd also recommend the Vantage Pro.

Spyderco Native
Queen Sodbuster
Kershaw JYDII
SOG Flash II
Case Trapper/Stockman

I don't think SOG makes any of their knives in the U.S. anymore. Could be wrong, but I think they're all Taiwan, China, or Japan made nowadays.

Kershaw has a whole lot of offerings made in USA for 50$ or under. You could also go with the classic Buck 110.

Add +15 $ and buy a Kershaw Lahar. It is not made in US, it is made in Japan but the quality is very good :)

get yourself a vantage hands down, s30v, awesome g10, great pocket clip, decent flipper and just an overall great knife. However, id say a buck vantage avid, would appeal higher to the non knife person as it has very nice wooden handles, and a decent steel. btw ive had both, lost the avid camping and gave the pro to one of my good friends and were both great

I would go with a Buck 110 or Buck 112. they are great american knives for around $50-$60. It seems like you are going for the more light weight edc type knife so you probably won't end up going with the 110 or 112. But i would recommend going with the buck 110 or 112 ecolite if you don't like the weight.

This is a little bigger then 3" and might cost a few more bucks....

Becker BK2

May want to look at the online site's inventory of QUEEN cutlery.
I know a lot of the Bird's Eye Maple patterns are right around $50 mark.
I imagine the Amber Honey Carved Bone Staggy types are the same.

Hope dis helps
