I was just posting with Dalton on Facebook about the tang stamp on a new 112 he bought directly from Buck a few days ago. It had the 50th anniversary blade but was not a 50th anniversary knife. We all know Buck makes oddballs so this COULD be that in this case. But if in fact Buck uses the 50th tang stamp for all or some 112's this year it will matter to some folks who are buying the 'official' 50th anniversary version. The fact that this one 112 was bought directly from Buck might not really mean anything but so far it's the only regular 112 I've seen with it.

A few minutes ago Jeff posted on Facebook there is 2 versions with and without the emblem in the handle. I just asked if Custom shop 112's ordered with 420 would get the 50th tang stamp and if any other variations of the 112 besides brass and Ebony might get it. Especially any super steel and/or drop point blades but I haven't had a reply yet. I know Buck will release more LE's and likely a 112 BOTM later this year.

bucksway bucksway Well that is good to know. If he answers on facebook would you share it please.
I've avoided facebook but there are some groups I might be interested in, perhaps I'll give in.

Any update on this? I would love to order a custom 112 with the 50th stamp.

I’ve been waiting as well lol. Got a nickel silver framed 112 in S30v and Walnut calling my name from the custom shop, just waiting to complete the order and would love the 50th blade stamp on it.

Yes if you order a Custom 112 it will have the 50th tang stamp! I'm tempted myself but I swore to myself that I would not order a Custom until a drop point blade is available. That might be subject to change later this year. I am ordering 2 regular 50th for Customs. One will be bareheaded with smooth bone with the 50th emblem set into the handle. The other is still top secret..

Just to clarify I emailed Buck and was told if you order a custom 112 it will not have the “50” stamp. All the customs are marked “custom knife shop”.

Interesting Buck is adding an additional 33% to the price on the 50th anniversary model. I don't remember there being a price difference when they were selling the 110 50th anniversary version.

Covid tax ? (AKA supply chain issues / increase in the cost of materials)
