Just wanted to make a quick post here in the CRK sub. I’m having a birthday milestone today, 50, and spent the last few months contemplating what knife I wanted to add to commemorate this day. I’ve been collecting since I was a Boy Scout, but didn’t get serious about it until I was in my mid 30’s. I’ve owned at one time or another all of the big brands, and for the last 8-10 years, really focused on higher end production knives, i.e. Hinderer, Koenig, Curtiss, etc. but never owned a Reeve.

That being said, I decided that this was the perfect time to “request/acquire” my first CRK. I’ve been going back and forth between 21 vs Inkosi, Drop point vs. Insingo, 21 vs 31 vs Ummam, inlays vs PJ, you get the point. Anyway, to get to the point, 21’s are discontinued, I have large hands and love hand filling folders, and I use my knives daily, no safe queens. If I don’t use it, it gets moved on. So without further ado, my wife gifted me this today,

Congrats. I’m a big fan of the Insingo

Thanks Dc. While I was researching info to make the right decision, I read a hell of a lot of your posts and they helped me out tremendously. I opted for the 21 since it’s availability gets shorter by the day.

Glad to hear they helped. It’s a good mix between between a couple blade shapes. Very useful to me. Going for a 21 while they’re available was a good choice as well
The Insingo is the only shape I find myself missing when I don’t have it. I do own them but I very rarely think to myself, “really wish I had my tanto”

It just doesn’t get any better than your better half giving you a CRK. Happy birthday and congratulations on you first CRK. A micarta inlay insingo is a hell of a first. I’m sure you’ll find out for yourself just how useful the blade shape is.

Fantastic my friend, she looks to be in good company. I bet this wont be the last CRK. Just as a side note my wife is looking to buy me a new knife for my coming up birthday. Boy some wives are just the bestest! Good luck my friend with your new knife, I am sure it will serve you well.
