51¢ for such an improvement...

Spyderco knives are excellent, but I have had a small problem with the stainless handled models, more precisely, the little screws that hold the clip. Both a Delica and a Cricket had one screw with a rounded off 'cross +' (sorry for lack of technical jargon). Getting the screws out of the stainless-handled Delica was a chore that resulted in 3 rounded 'crosses' because no Phillips on earth (read: my workshop) fit exactly. My fault entirely, but... For 51¢, I purchased 3 Allen Head screws at the local fastener shop (I actually bought a dozen to replace on other knives). The model, if it can help anyone else, is M2x6 S4CS (18.8). They were too long but five minutes with my Wizard ground them to length and rounded the contour nicely. Make sure to cut them down to the original length not to intrude anywhere. I like the slightly protruding heads for improved grip, and Allens are great. Now I can take the clip off to clean, polish or whatever, and know I'll get them back on. I figure that if it happened twice to me (albeit, my fault) it happened to someone else. Now the Delica clip is faultless.

I apologise if this post has been covered before. I'm just new and excited.

And to think I was just using a well fitting standard screwdriver.

I guess you do learn something new everyday!

Perhaps you're literally right and it wasn't Phillips screws, but PoziDriv?

I do take the blame for stripping the heads. My fault 100%, but I'll share that blame with geography, impatience and a deep-seated need to replace all fasteners with Allans or Torx. Plus, it looks so damn good now...

I did the same thing to my Delica SS and used a penny to take off the screws.
