Ok guys I finished the heat treated knife. Here are the specs, 1/4" x 1 1/4" 5160, 5 1/2" blade, 4 1/2" handle of impala jigged buff horn, 5/32 brass pins and 7/32 thong tubing. It has a full to the edge convex grind with a scotch brite finish. BTW, the whitetail antler holding the knife is one of the set I use to rattle in bucks. Believe me, rattling does work. ;) What do ya think?

I've been told that buff horn can be slippery. From my experience it's not the case. This horn has jigging which makes it grippier then the smooth type. With any handle material, fat and grease from an animal will make it slippery. Blood on the other hand tends to be sticky when the air hits it. Blood is the worst substance to get on a knife blade because of the enzymes that go to work right away on steel, even stainless. Thanks for the kind words ;)
