8 1/4" of forged 5160, 416 ss guard, ferrel w/copper spacer, and a Piece of Desert Ironwood I had saved for it. I had not put a Pin in it because I ran out of corbys and have to wait on them to get here. This is one of the knives I had planed to take to the Arkansas Show in Febuary.
Tell me What you think.

Two minor points.Blade, guard and Ferrule look good although I personally like a bit more ricasso (enough so that you can put a finger there to choke up a bit).
The handle could use a bit of sculpting and may be a bit too short.
Look at the typical ABS style handles and pay special attention to where they flare, taper, etc.
Hope that helps and keep up the good work

It is contoured a bit but the pictures dont show it as well as in the hand. The handle is about 5 1/4" long from guard to tip. I wanted to take this one to Al's for the monthly meeting but time ran short on me and I didn't get it done. I will take it for the Dec. meeting if I still have it.

I know the trend is for exceptionally long handles, but I don't always go for that. 5.25 gives plenty of room, I think. It looks a little broad, though. Hard to tell without a butt pic.

I like the ricasso, it's got enough space to clean, but maybe a bit less would give you more up close power cutting.

The plunge is what I noticed first, and I really like the placement of it.

that's a nice, burly looking knife. I especially like the manly, hefty guard.
It's definitely one macho piece.

At over 5",I was mistaking, plenty long enough handle, looked short in the pic

Rusty,
Looks good from here, but please do bring it to Al's and get some hands on opinions.:) Lin

I also prefer a little more ricasso.
Believe the handle appears short because it's rather thick.
Nice hefty knife.
