5160 question RE Edge

I'm getting a custom knife done for me shortly, and I haven't used 5160 before.

How easily does it sharpen up, and that is the best user edge to leave on it? I find the best edge on about 75& of production steels is a polished edge, with CPM needing a rougher edge(800grit stone or so). Just my opinion though.
 
I find 5160 to be a pleasure to sharpen.

I like to use a Norton Fine India or a DMT fine diamond with this steel and it gives a very "toothy" edge.
