This is a customer order that he and I designed together. It has a 1/4" thick 5160 convex grind 8 1/2" blade, 5 1/2" handle with green/black micarta scales and loveless screws. All comments welcome. Sorry about the bad pic

Bad pic, but sweet as knife!

Great choice of steel, strong tickness, great design, great size, great fit and finish yeah, what's not to like?!

Good job, too bad you have to give it away now!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the complements. My photograghy skills aren't worth squat. Still trying to catch up on my computer skills too. Yeah I do hate to have to give it to it's new owner, because I'd love to try it out. :D Hopefully it will be used. I think using the 5160 for a large chopper is better then stainless. It can handle the shock better.

That knife has the perfect design, IMO. Nice modified tear drop handle for great ergos and a variety of grips. Choke up finger choil. One of the best designs I have seen in a while for utility. Thinner stock would be just the ticket for me.

Very Nice Scott
Its a spear point right? Almost looks like you buried the point about half an inch into that board  I'm pretty sure its just an illusion from where the point drops.
How'd you like working with 5160? Thats one I haven't tried yet. Been thinking I should after hearing all Peter has to say about it :)

Thanks Matt.
Yes it is a spear point. The blade does blend with the step. I love 5160. It's so easy to grind. Oohh how I love the sparks! :D It's inexpensive too and makes a strong blade.

I figure most camp knives are shaped like that because it is the most practical design.
This particular one looks like it can perform beyond all expectations.

Good job, Razorback! :)

Thank you golok. The handle has three grip options. The guy I made it for wanted a handle length I thought would be a bit long, but after it was finished I realized with that length you had the three grip options. It worked out great being longer.
