51670n steel?

I think that is a commercial, plate steel.Mete or Kevin could answer better, but I believe it would make OK knives. It should work similar to 5160 if I recall this steel right.Hopefully they will chime in here.

I believe that 516 70n is about 30-35 points carbon, the "n", I know, stands for normalized.

ASME 516 Grade 70 n - .27-.30 C, .15-.40 Si, .85-1.20 Mn . This is a plate steel for pressure vessels with a 70,000psi yield strength.n = normalized. Not suitable for knives since it doesn't have enough carbon .

Thanks mete,I remembered it was a specialized plate steel.Forgot the low carbon content.Knifeaholic, ignore what I said about using it (most people do anyway).
