Howdy all, I have a 52-100 blade steel knife coming my way this very moment. I'm thinking she will need some natural patina... I've heard that strawberries works well for this steel. I'm looking for something that will make it blue-ish, or even some brighter colors. Any recc's? I kind of want to do it naturally, i.e. peeling an apple, cutting an orange, slicin' taters and meat, strawberries, etc. I've even heard a good kosher dill pickle!
Let's hear your stories and recc's, and better yet... how bout some pics?

Thanks, Mongo

Great choice of blade!! Not sure what Reese did to this 52-100 example but I like it..

Sweet looking knife, Mongo. Looks like a real keeper.

I've never seen/handled 52-100. I'm familiar with 1095, CV, D2, S30V and 154CM. How does it compare to any of these? I just might have to look into something with 52-100.

Thanks.
