Are the Buck 532's a limited edition of 2000, with no more planned, or are they a production knife now?

My understanding is it is a Y2K knife only, or as they call it a "Millennium Knife".

They will make as many as they can sell during the year, but will stop making them at the end of the year. They are limited edition knives.

There may be 2000, there may be less. At the rate they sell (slow) I doubt if they will make to 2000 pieces.

I take it they are selling that well, eh Dennis? Do you have a few in stock? What colors?

Or, for that matter, what else do you have in BG42 steel? Yeah, I've decided I'm partial to Buck's BG42 steel.

Dave,

Dennis is correct, Y2K only. But, that model just seems to keep going and going. It is such a favorite around here, and at the secret underground 532 collectors club, that we keep finding reasons to keep it in the line. Thats just fine with me!

Rock, I have some walnuts and indigos in stock right now. Cherrys on backorder.

It's true that they aren't fast sellers but the folks who appreciate good knives recognize the fine characteristics for these little jewels.

My plan is to build up a bit of a "buffer stock" of them to carry over to the next "special project" 532 that Buck manages to spin out so I will order up some more, even though they aren't moving well right now. Who knows...in the future?

I remember the Master Series and wish that I had had the foresight to order more of them when I had the chance.

I agree with Joe that this is one fine little knife and should be kept around. Long live the secret 532 collectors club. I know I'm keeping at least one set for myself.

As for BG42, yeah, I like it too. It's really great stuff, especially with Paul Bos doing the heat treating for Buck.

Besides the 532s, I have some 692 Vanguards, 119 Specials and a couple of 110 folders in stock with BG42 blades.

Might have a line on a couple of BG42 Striders, but don't tell anybody. Nothing positive yet, just a sighting here and there.

That sounds like a GREAT idea. One thing seems to be certain... Buck knives will sell. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold, but they sell. I think people know them as a good, solid company. Even people who aren't knife knuts know the name as a good one.
