ive been noticing alot of 532 pics lately on here, and they are beautiful knives, but i have a question...do most of you guys buy them strictly as collectors? id like a less flashy one to carry, but i cant find them on the Buck site. LE? custum only? whats the deal, did i just miss out when they were in production, because i cannot seem to find a "plain jane" one for sale anywhere. im in no hurry, ive been spending money on guns and ammo, but i though id pop this question at you guys....i NEVER knew Buck makes/made so many knives until joining here and am feeling OVERWHELMED:D

If you are a member of BCCI, there are some VERY LE's available in celebration of the Smokey Mountain Rendezvous. There is a set comprised of a 110, 112, 500, 532 and 501.

S30V blades and micarta scales. You can buy them by the set or individually. Not sure if they sold out as there are 100 of each and 50 reserved for sets.

Woody, Yes, the 532 has been discontinued . So, the only way to get one is purchase a LE when offered or go to the bay . The Heritage Series offers a plain one with up grade steel as Peter was informing us . A good buy . DM

I don't have a 532, but I love the file work on the knife. To me it is really a beautiful looking knife. I went ahead and ordered the 532 with S30V steel from BCCI, it was $95. You get a slight discount is you buy the whole set.

If you want one you better hurry cause Plumberdv is on a mission to corner the market---and he's just the man to do it:D

LOL, I can try.

Out of all the 532's that I have, only three are catalog production knives. The rest are either Limited Editions, Special Projects or Buildouts.

They are a nice slender "gentlemans" type knife and I do carry one off and on. The production models do pop up on auction sites occasionally, but mostly you will find the LE's, etc.

It does LOOK like filework, but actually it is part of the "casting" of the frame.

I initially thought it was filework too:D
