I was wondering if the 535 Sawby BuckLock was ever manufactured? I have seen examples of the 531 and the 539 with this locking mechanism but have only seen advertising photos of the 535. Any information would be much appreciated.

Jeff,
Yes, Buck made some 535s with the Sawby lock as sales samples. I think they made approximately 100 of them and I do have one. The really rare Sawby models are the 532. It is my understanding that only 5 of them were ever made.

Larry is essentially right; there were 100 535's made (give or take a couple) but the 532's are all truly prototypes. There are some 535's out there somewhere because in addition to the rep samples (about 60) the knives went to some valued Buck employees (per Charlie Gregory's orders). They tend to sell such knives.
