So the first thing I did when I took my new 55 out of the package was to put it under my personal scanninig electron microscope I keep in my closet to check for blade play, and would you believe that there is a horizontal wiggle of .00687 nanometers? This is an unacceptable level of movement. :p

All joking aside though, I bought a 55 from Buckknives.com last week, just came to the door a few minutes ago. I think I'm going to like this one. It's like an EDC version of the 110. It feels like a great little knife to me, maybe a little thinner than I expected.

you know that at a clearance of less then .0006 the blade will bind right?:p:thumbup:

They look like a small version of the 111 to me, not a 110. Thay are sure great little pocket knives and I love the ones that I have.

Plumberdv i agree that they look like a smaller 111, but calling it the 55 1/2 just wouldn't sound right.

You're right, it does look more like the 111

And I just figured out what you were talking about with the 55.5 stuff. That made me feel dumb. :o

The 55 is a sweet little knife. When it first came out I thought alright a 1/2 size 110, cool. When it came in I ????, it's small. I don't care for small knives...to me they are for cleaning ones finger nails (but, that's me).

A Buck 110 weighs 7.2oz. A 55 weighs 1.9oz, so this knife should be the Buck 27.5. I'd like to see a real 55 at 3.6oz....now that would be a cool looking and useful pocket knife.

Amen! I love mine, and always steer guys looking for a simple, durable, classy single-blade pocketknife to the 55.

I still think every 110 sold ought to come with a little flier for the 55. I bet 55 sales would shoot up.
