550 Reassembly

Hey y'all,

So I decided to take apart my 550 today to prepare for a new scale that is coming in and I stupidly took the pivot out. I got it back together right I think, but wanted to see if anyone had directions to confirm so. It's not quite as smooth as it was before (maybe I put the washers on the wrong side). So does anyone have suggestions/instructions?

Start by taking it apart and reassembling and see if that helps. There isn't much to get out of place on that particular model.

Edit

Did you put a tiny bit of lubricant on the detent ball?

I did disassemble/reassemble twice, I didn't put any lubricant because I wasn't sure if CLP was ok to use?

I can it back together fairly easily but I couldn't get the lockbar and scale side to stay together tight, they kept separating but eventually I got the pivot screw just right for it to stay close together and the knife still open fairly easily.

CLP is ok. Try assembling it like a sandwich. Start with the female pivot placed into the locking side with the standoffs attached as well. Then add the first washer then the blade then the next washer and now the liner. Make sure the liner seats with the standoffs.
