550 vs 560 Size Difference

How much bigger is the 560 than the 550?

Some pictures make it seem like a big difference, while others makes it look like it would not be too much different in the pocket?
 
Looking strictly at the numbers, they don't seem too far off, but they feel pretty different in pocket. The 0550, IMO, rides a lot more comfortably. The 0560 actually carries more comfortably than you might expect of a knife that size (compared to, say, the 0200 and 0300).

It really depends, I consider the 550 handle much more bulky in the pocket as it's thicker and the handle is much more square as the pictures show. I notice the 550 more in my pocket walking around, but I notice the length of the 560 more when sitting/standing in my pockets, IMO neither of them are too bulky to pocket carry. ZT lists them as the same weight 5.8 ounces. I think the 550 handle feels bulkier and is better balanced in the hand and the 0560 handle is more ergonomic for extended use. Had the 550 had a similar thinner lighter handle shape to the 560 it probably would have dropped a bit of weight, add a flipper and it would probably be even more popular.
 
The biggest thing I notice between the two is the overall length when they are in the pocket. The 0560 is noticeably longer and takes up a good bit of vertical real estate in my pocket. Is it too much? Not for me, personally I like it more but some of that is partly due to preferring the flipper and the titanium texturing. Additionally, as they weigh the same for me it was easier to justify going with the bigger blade.

To clarify though the 0550 is great too so you can't go wrong with that if that is the route you take. In summary same weight but the 0560 is definitely longer.
 
Anyone know what is the closed thickness of the 0550? Can't seem to find a measurement on the net
 
I like and carry both. But the 0560 more often. And, to reiterate, the length gained with the 0560 trumps because the weight is the same. Just my 2 cents.
 
I have both and while the 560 is longer closed the much better edge radiuses made it feel smaller in the pocket. This advantage has lead to my 550 going so far out of the rotation that it is back in its box. YMMV
