So, I picked up a 555-1 and some aftermarket scales, I put the aftermarket scales on and the pivot pin head won't sit recessed completely. Does the -1 have a larger screw head than the regular Mini Grips? Or, could it be that the hole is not the right size? Thanks for any input.

I would try to press it down further or turn the pivot slowly. I swapped the scales on my 555-1 and I had the same problem. I simply tightened it down slowly and a lot of downward pressure as to not strip the screw. My scales are AWT made of aluminum. Hope it helps

The 555-1 does have a domed pivot pin as opposed to flat on the standard 555. I looks like the c'bore may not be deep enough on your handles?

The head of the pin won't sit in the counter bore at all, it gets caught on the edge. I'm thinking the c'bore is either not big enough in diameter, or the -1 pin has a slightly larger head in diameter. I have requested a regular pin so when I get that I'll see if it fits.

Gotcha. Yeah I checked and the -1 does have a larger diameter head than the standard pin.
