The detent on my 0560 is pretty loose. Enough so that my blade has a few mm movement, while closed. It fires fine, and is super smooth. So it doesn't really effect function. But it wouldn't mind if that play wasn't there. Anyone else have this issue? I'm guessing it could be taken care of if I sent it off to ZT?

My detente is pretty loose, but there isn't any blade play when closed. Took me awhile to get the hang of "pre-loading" my index finger without the aid of the strong detente, and have developed a callous on my index finger from taping the jimping.

My 0561 does the same thing. I'm not too concerned. It might be part of the KVT ball bearing system that causes it. I'll take mine apart for cleaning and see what I can find out.

There is no play on mine.

Sounds like it could be a detent hole being drilled a bit too close to the ball, letting the ball sink all the way in. Saw a vid on youtube of a new high end knifermaker discussing setting the detent, pretty informational videos.

Detents engage the lip of the hole and should not actually sink in.
If you could OP, close the blade and shine a light on the back so you can see the gaps between the blade and scale. Look for the detent ball, around how much of the ball is sunk into the detent hole?

It's pretty hard to see in there, but from what I can see, it's all the way in the hole. The lockbar is flush to the blade.

If you have an issue with the knife, feel free to send it in for repair. The links in my signature will provide you with the info you need.

Let me know if I can help, but your best bet is to contact our warranty department.

Yeah if it's flush it could explain why there is play. It's difficult to set perfect detents everytime, even high end knife makers have issues setting the detent just perfect every single time. As Jimmer said contact their warranty department see what they say. With kershaw your as good as cake, they'll take care of you.

It doesn't annoy me THAT much.
