I have a 560 titainium that I have carried on my gear since the early "90s. A week ago one of my guys borrowed it to do something and snapped the tip off the blade. Ya, dont know why I did'nt hand him my $25 882 factory blem or even my Strider EB-T, but I'm getting old. So, one of the mechanics attached to our company thinks he can fix it, mistake #2. He brings it back and it looks like some kid ground it down in shop class. Wish I had a pic. Anyway, I mailed it home thinking I would take it over to the Buck Factory when I'm back on leave (my hometown is Spokane), and see if they would repair it. So, I'm reading some back posts and Buck may just replace the 560 with a 110 and not change out the blade. If thats the case, does anybody know of some one who could swap a blade from a 110 to my 560? This knife has really been over the trail with me and I dont want to retire it just yet.

Don't be worried, Colt, send the knife or bring it to Post Falls, give it to Joe Houser
and he will take care for a blade swap. And I think they will make it under warranty.

Best,
Haebbie

Tin Sue, is right... Buck doesn't do blade swaps any more... You can't do anything to the blade, that kills the warranty... Leroy is the man... If you need a number just e-mail me... Good luck with your knife...

Buck does and will install a new blade on it.(420 which is what it had)
As they have done it on some of mine I sent in.Now, if you want a upgrade blade? Leroy,
is the only one that will do that.DM

Seems to be some confusion here as to what or if Buck will work on a 560...Joe has mentioned that the rivets were special to the 560; requiring different techniques to removing and re-installing the new rivets (if any could be found)...and spinning/polishing them was a PITA...(my description; not his...don't ask me how I know)... :p

I think you need to talk to/email Joe before making any plans...

Now, Leroy...that's a different story...Leroy might have the original rivets, maybe even a 560 blade...and I'll bet he rebuilds them the way they were done back then...possibly with the original dies & fixtures...as he salvaged a lot of unused/junked machinery when Buck moved...or so I've heard... :D

there are issues with the 560 blade replacement
and dont mater who does the work..
Buck will replace the blade of that i am sure!
will the rivets/work look factory still -
as track said do not expect them to..
i have some i sent in for broke blades and am happy with what buck did also..
buck wont charge. let them KNOW if they can not replace the blade you want it back

leroy has converted several 560's for me and i am very happy with them
some look dang real close to fact-tor-ry!
