I was wondering why the 300 series of ZT's are so much easiler to close than the 560? My 301 unlocks smooth as silk. Do the 300's have titanium lock bar or steel.

300's have a titanium frame lock same as the 560. is it a brand new 560? you may need to do the sharpie thing to help out till it breaks in if so.

Its probably because of the DLC coating on the 300s, since both the lock and blade are coated in DLC there is less friction....And yes do the Sharpie trick, put sharpie on the blade portion where the lock bar hits and it will make a world of difference.. I've done it on my ZT0550, ZT0561 and my Tilt

Unlocking might take some breaking in. That said, my 560 has no lock stick whatsoever and is among the easiest folders I have to close because of the KVT. Because of the assisted opening, the 301 will always be harder to close than a manual. I choose to de-assist the ZTs that I use (that came with A/O), like the 0400.

I did the sharpie thing and it really helped. Thanks for the info.

Honestly I don't know why the 30x series don't require break in being a titanium frame lock, every other ti frame lock I have ever owned requires the break in that the 0560 does. good news is that once you get the 0560 broken in it will unlock just as easy as your 0300.

The frame lock on the 03XX models are DLC coated, it cuts down on the stiction that is the sticky lockbar.
