i love my 560 its the god of folding knives. mine seems to have some slight up and down play. it had some very slight out of the box took it apart and put it back together and got very slight to the point where it didn't bug me. but now its back and seems to be getting worse to the point where it makes a rattling sound when i wiggle the blade. it doesn't really move much and the lock bar doesn't seem to move. does it just need to wear in more or will it get worse? im not really complaining i just wana make sure its not guna get worse

How much lockup you got on that awesome blade?

seems like only a small coner of the lock bar is touching the lock face when i look at the wear

Here's what I would do. Take it apart and very gently add some pressure to the lock by slightly flexing it in. Then, when I put it back together, I would put some graphite on the lock bar face. That should take care of it.

What other methods you have, send it to Kershaw, and have them square it away.

I'm a little more hands on when it comes to taking care of my stuff, YMMV.

ETA Check to see if there is any debris in there as well and check the lockbar face for any protrusions. I don't think you will find any, but its worth a look.

I just dont get it as if the lock bar is putting full pressure on the lock face of the blade tang and the stop pin on the blade is hitting the handle I dont understand whats making the rattling. Are you sure the rattling isnt coming from the pin on the backside of the spine near the pivot that adds support in that area? Somtimes those fit in the handle a little loose and will cause noises. If it is that piece of metal putting a dab of grease in there will help quiet it down.

ZT customer service is second to none. I would send it in with a full description of the issue.

actually its comeing form the thumb studs when the blade springs back to up. ill ues it for a week if it gets worse i send it in

Sounds like a plan. There's no time limit for warranty stuff. You can notice the issue, keep using it and decide to send it in next week, or next month, or next whenever. You don't have to send it in when it is first noticed. Totally awesome.
