I have just ordered a 560 and plan on sending it to Buck to have the BG-42 blade added. My question is this, has anyone tried to add a pocket clit to it? I would like to add one and wanted to see if they could add one if I sent one with the knife. What are the thoughts on this subject?

Its possible, but depending on how you go about it it can be complicated.

I had one maker that looked at doing it for me, and he suggested drilling the holes all the way through whichever scale you want the clip on, then tapping the holes for the clip.

That is what I was thinking. I will have to look around and see who would be willing to take on the task.

Only thing to keep in mind is that you will void your warranty doing that.

I don't know what it is about the 560, but I just don't warm to it. I had one and sold it. Now I have another, and I'm thinking of selling it. I think maybe it's the handle, which is just cold to the hand. I know it's titanium and virtually indestructible. I like the finger grooves. But there's just something about it. Can't quite put my finger on it. I've almost sent this one in twice for the blade exchange but just wasn't sure if I liked it enough.

I just got one a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It has a very solid feel to it. I just wish it had a clip and a thumbstud, but you can't have everything.

Diamond Cut II -

Interesting picture. So . . . you attach the thumbstud . . . push the blade open halfway . . . . . then slip your index finger under the cutting edge??? . . . . and use it to push the blade the rest of the way open???? :D Yikes!

Very appropriate name!

Forgot to mention that I just got a 560 back from Buck with the BG-42 upgrade and I'm very happy with it. The feel of the titanium takes a little getting used to, but the fingergrooves and the weight are great.

Being titanium, you will probably want to use a hard drill such as tungsten or cobalt. I dont know about the tap.IMHO if i was going to soup up a 560 with what I have at home, I'd look around for a small machine shop to drill the 3 holes. Might be cheaper than buying drills and taps. I'm not real handy in the shop.
