Hey guys.

I wanted to share a trip I took with my girlfriend and her little brother last night. We have been moving all day, and thought it would make a nice end to the day to go out and relax by the fire on the river bed.

Of course first off I wanted to get some tinder together, found some staw and twigs and what not to get the fire going.

here I was starting up the fire, I used the edge of the rc6 this time around just to see what it would do, there wasn't any damage to the edge, it was pinging hair off when I started but it would just scrap of hair at the end. I'm really impressed with this knife, Im glad I got ahold of it.

Also, here is where I got my wood for the 2 hours we were there. The wood here ranged from .5" pieces to 3" pieces, this is a group of dead wood I was working with, and after 4 minutes with the gerber folding saw, it was resolved to this.

Im still loving these saw's, the gerber and fiskars are the same overall, but I like the ergo's of the Fiskar telescopic models better. they cut very well and are really durable, at least the old ones were. I have had this saw over 5 years now, same blade, which now has a couple bends in it, but it still works fine.

And here I am ready to take the world on.:D

Group shot of everything I feel is key, not essential, but what I would like to have.
This all could be done with a folder if need be, the only reason I used the folding saw is because it was there, the wood could be easily broken, but next time I go out I'll see how well it would go with a folder.

More pictures to come.

Here I am looking out acrost the river, I love this area.

Then a shot of the fire just before we left for the night.

Heres a shot across the river, and you can see the "brother in law":D down on the ice.

:D Lunada, glad I ended up getting the size up.
Very durable kit, im liking it a lot.

I've got the Malaga (massively decked out), and my fiancee has the Lunada. They're great bags. Great choice!

looks like a nice relaxing fire after what sounds like a hectic day (i'm not a fan of moving...maybe its because of all the big furniture we have...)

i'm also a fan of the Fiskars telescope saw...i like that it cuts relatively fast with a very fine finish. it also weights 3 oz...light enough to carry around in my cargo pocket all day long.

Amen! I love mine for the same reasons.

Great pics man! Is that reflector on the bag the velcro SOLAS tape i sent with the bag (or did I send some at all?)

Siguy, what wood is that in your pic?

yep its cedar. seems like the cedar i've found in my woods is especially purple, but then it mellows out after being sheltered for a few days. a spoon i carved from that piece in the photos is pretty much a light chocolately brown now.

Thats actually a little patch that came on the sheath of my MAK-1, just thought it would look neat.:D

Nice photos. Looks like a great place to spend some quiet time.
