585 Safety Question

I picked up s well-used Mini Barrage at a pawn shop a few days back. After a good cleaning/sharpening the knife seems to be in good working order.

The only issue is the safety sticks out from the spine in a way I haven't seen in any pictures.

Has anyone seen this before? The safety seems to work fine, but I don't know if this is a sign of something worse.

Yeah your right that's not supposed to be happening. Is the spring assisted function still working and is the locking feature still working? That doesn't look good.

Well if everything is working fine and it doesn't bother you wouldn't care really. But that isn't supposed to be happening.
 
I would of had to see more pictures of the way it was taken down or at least more close ups inside to give you a solution to get it so it wasn't sticking up past the liners. Lots of people carry their 585's the way you have it right now. Shouldn't be that hard to figure out how to make it stop sticking out if you want to have it on there though. If you want it back on and can't figure it out show pics of the knife taken down and i'm sure others could help you figure out the problem too.
