A friend of mine in AZ sent me some Mesquite and Iron wood to make some handles with.. The piece of Iron wood was pretty bad, had a bunch of voids, cracks and worm holes in it. I was going to make this gift for him with the Iron wood but there just wasn't enough to do the handle and the sheath with so I used the Mesquite . It does have one little spacer in the handle made with the Iron wood. The blade is about 8 inch's and it's 440. It's a long ways from my first knife but still pretty much a amateur job. Having fun though. I wish I had some of the equipment I see on the forum, of course then I'd have to learn how to use it :)

The pictures are low quality and I know the handle isn't something you'd want to do a lot of work with but it does give you a good grip. Going to make my son one now, it will be a big camp knife, kind of a Bowie look but more of a straight point.

I'd say you did a great job! very cool! I bet you already know all the ways that you can make the sixth even better...

Nice job, sleek and graceful. I need to learn to do hidden tang knives. The thought of fitting and shaping the finger guard fills me with apprehension. Yours looks really nice, and the grind looks good too.

I really like it. The grind is very good. Where do you live in Washistan?

Live in Ocean Shores. Connie has relatives all over that Omak area. I had a friend that had a place just East of Tonasket close to Boneparte LK. I used to hunt that area.
