If I have one vintage 110 I would love to drop in my pocket and carry, it would have to be this one!

72-74 5th version, but it's in it's original box and mint, so I haven't had the nerve to use it!

I love the older blade profile, compared to a modern one.

Dang,,,that is a really nice looking three liner. Put it away and get a beater three liner.

Well,,,ok, send it to me and I'll send you a beater three liner and will store that one safely away from your sadistic tendencies to make it a user. :):)

I wouldn't hesitate to take that out and use it,I know its mint, but I figure a buck 110 is meant to be used, and why not start out right with a minty one.

I use and carry an old 2 dot that was mint in box when i got it,I love to use the older one sometimes.

BCCL, USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think of the memories you'll make :)

Look at it this way, it'll make yours worth that much more ;)

I've got a 5th gen and a 3rd gen that I still use, not mint but still nice looking knives.

Mine worth more....yes..yes..,,,,lol.... off to dig out the box of no dots....

now where is that bottle of tums

I have exactly that 110, purchased new in 1973. Have the sheath, too, but no box. I like it very much also, but I'm curious - anything else you like, other than the blade profile?

If I owned it,I wouldn't sell it anyway ,so might as well use it a bit.

Yeah! Plus it doesnt hurt them! Unless your cutting some tough material I guess.

Although that IS a very nice example... NIB no less ;)

Jeff, look around the edges where the handles meet the bolsters and along the edges of the frame and see if you can see any of the adhesive they used in that time frame.

May take a magnifier.

dang,,,am I going to have to send you a beater like that one to keep you from using it :eek:

It's hard to explain, but the whole knife seems slimmer and more "graceful" if that makes sense???

I've never measured it, but the handle seems thinner at the middle than a new 110.

I just used a magnifier, and there sure does appear to be a hair thin layer of some kind of clear epoxy between the wood and the metal. VERY thin, but it is there.

Does that mean anything?

yup,,,back in that time frame and before, Buck used an adhesive as seemingly both a filler for spaces between frame and bolsters, as well to glue the handles on . From the box full of no dots and dots I have, looks like the adhesive went away or handles were fit better around the time of the two dot
