I picked this up in a lot of knives from a friend in central Idaho. The rest of the lot had a couple 50's and 60's Ruana. The son said this one was a Ruana as well made for his dad very early he guessed late thirties early 40's.
It has no Ruana marking like my others. I have never seen any of the really early Ruana bowie knives in person or in pictures. I will say the build on this knife is definitely excellent. Well crafted for its age, straight blade, perfectly tight handle, pommel and guard.
Maybe someone can post some very early Ruana knives.
