I just noticed a six foot section of RR track in a neighbors junk pile. If anyone wants this and is going to the Stamford NCCA show next Sat - I'll go pick it up and bring it with me. please email me.

I also found four feet of some huge chain - I am hoping it's the anchor chain that IG and others have been using for guards. I'll bring a piece of that too.

Best,

PJG

I know this might sound odd but if your thinkin on cuttin some of that track up , post and let me know :)

I would seriously love a small section of track for an anvil, but I think shipping charges to California would negate any savings :(

Thanks for the offer though. Any idea where I could find old track?

RR maintenance yard.Call (or go) down to the RR terminal and ask where the track maintenance yard is.Go to the yard in person and ask for the supervisor. If they don't have a piece the right length, they may even cut one for you.

Come on IG- a hacksaw and a good box of blades should be all a real man needs.

Yea IG how bout some of that portagee hot relish to soften it up then we can hit it with a cold chisel a few times.

You may be right, but I m down to a half quart and it isn't even close to harvest time. :( :D

I found about a 8 foot piece and ended up cutting it on my little Harbor Freight bandsaw. About 3 blades and 3.5 hours later is was done. If I had to do it over, I would take it to a machine shop and have them cut it with one of their big bandsaws. -chris
