First time doing a tapered tang.... actually that's a lie the first one warped during HT and had to be scrapped so did this one after it was fully hard, 36grit swiss ceramics (SIA) made it a breeze. I'm sold on the way it looks and feels so I"ll be tapering all future knives as standard.

Went for Ivory linen Micarta on this one, stainless pins, 6" blade (front of scales to tip), 10.5" overall. 6mm O1, double hollow ground, tang is tapered to about 2.5mm.

Enjoy!

Love a tapered-tang.....great looking Pesh.

Have you done any with a sharpened top-edge? ;)

that is pretty neat. I love the ridge of the two hollow ground bevels meeting. I am a history buff, so I like those with no ricasso, but that is still a damn fine knife you made there.

Nice grinds. Reminds me of Jody Samson.

Thanks all! Appreciate it.

Not sure about the double edge, maybe on something else I have planned. ;)

Finished the sheath today, tried something a little different and went for purple stitching, subtle but I think it works well.

Just saw the shot of the knife in the sheath - love the level of contrast between the handle and sheath.

That's a beautiful knife. I'd be able to use that for all kinds of tasks around the grill. Will have to ask my wife if it qualifies as a "kitchen knife" (kitchens knives come out of "family" budget ;) )

The purple stitching adds a nice pop
