Hi fellas, noticed a thread earlier that says the HR fits a 6" Spec Ops sheath. Is that true -- doesn't the blade show? (I don't have a heat gun or welding gloves to snug up the 8"!) Someone else mentioned the HR fits a company NO E sheath...but not sure where I can get one of those. Thanks to anyone who can help!

I got the larger (8"?) Spec Ops sheath for my HR.

I popped out the kydex liner and started playing around. The HR fit in but the edge bit into the liner. My heat gun was DOA, so I hauled out the MAPP torch and fired 'er up. Held the liner a good 6-12" from the flame, basically far enough away that it wouldn't turn the kydex into a limp noodle. When it got a little flexy, I stuck the HR in it and wiggled it around. Repeat as necessary. I wore my Mechanix gloves during this process. I got a little sweaty but no big deal.

She fits fine now.

You don't need a welding glove. A pair of jersey gloves or any gloves will work. You can also heat the liner over an electric stove top. Just turn one of the eyes of the stove on med to high and hold the insert about 5 - 10 inches over it while rotating. Works great.
