A few years ago I started accumulating knives thinking I would work toward a collection, but without direction and armed with nearly no knowledge I ended up with a drawer full of knives that really don't fit into my desires today. I still have very little knowledge, but I think I now at least have a direction of what I would like to collect and carry for personal use. That being said, I sat down and went thru my small accumulation with the intention of making it even smaller and then slowly and carefully ad back only the knives that fit in either the Barlow style or Case peanut style. These are my 2 favorite styles and carry knives for daily rotation so I hope to stay with these and only these for future collection.
Okay, I have rambled long enough and it is time for the giveaway details. I culled out 6 knives to be given away to one (1) lucky winner on December 15. This will be done by allowing my 6 year old grandson to choose a number between the first post and last post in this thread as numbered by the forum. In the event the number he chose is not a valid entry post then he will be asked to pick another number until a valid winner is selected. The entry deadline will be 9:00 pm (EST) December 14 and the winner will be announced sometime during the day on December 15. There will be no rules in this giveaway except... only ONE entry per member is allowed. A simple post of "I'm in" or any other comment you wish to make will make you eligible. I must restrict this giveaway to USA shipping addresses only.
This giveaway is a "pay it forward" inspired by knives recently gifted to me by another member (thanks Duane) and a thank you to a great bunch of people and an awesome forum..... y'all are the BEST!
I am no knife expert, restorer or even decent sharpener, so these knives will come to you "as is". If there are knives included that you have no interest in, then please pass them along with your own pay it forward giveaway (you will not hurt my feelings).
Here are the details of the knives below.
A vintage Ulster Boy Scout knife (USA) Very Good condition
A used Camillus Cub Scout Knife (NY USA) Excellent condition
A well used Kabar 2 blade pocket knife. Fair condition and needs TLC
A like new Camillus Canoe (NY USA) Blade has slight problem closing entirely, but easy fix for someone who knows how.
A brand new (with box) Buck 385 toothpick (China)
A brand new (with box) Bear and Son single blade peanut style knife (USA)
So, there you have it and best of luck to everyone.
See you on the 15th!
