I am debating between LSI 150k cp with 3 way switch or the Streamlight 50k lightbox w/ 8 hr burn time. The lsi is rated 8 hrs at 150k, 10-12 hrs at 50k and can accept the 500k bulb and run at 3 hrs or about 6 hrs at about 200k. I know that Streamlights are supposed to be real rugged, but if the LSI isn't junk, it has the better range and run time. Anyone have experience w LSI products? The fire companies in Pa all use Streamlight, but the weight and lowcp/runtime are a turnoff. your help is welcome

My IMPRESSION is that Streamlight products are of better quality. But I have no experince to back that up.

I would give Greg a call/email at
http://www.brightguy.com

he can probably help.

Thanks Dave... in previous calls, the folks at brightguys were too diplomatic to be helpful. They said, if you want range, go for the lsi, if you want indestructibility, go Streamlight. I just need reliable/ durable...any owners out there?

check out Underwater Kinetics (UK) D-4 dive light. Ive got a friend who sells them if you are interested

I have had very limited experience with a LSI 1 millian Candle rechargble spot light. I don't think they are as durable as can be and are certainly not well sealed. I can see openning into the unit. The lens feels flimsy. The casing is resonably tough though.

It was extremely bright, even brighter an automotive headlight. You might want to consider bulb life as well.
