I need to order some more. Whats a good brand to use? Will be using for the shaping of the wood handle, wanting something that dosen't load up easy.
Thanks

:) Rick, I buy the cheapest I can find to profile the handles, when they get dull you can use them to profile blades. Save the good belts for everything else. There is usually an ad in Blade or KI for cheap belts.

for handle materials: stick with the cheap old 3m 241D from pops
for profiling/grinding metals: 3m967 cubitron, i'm with dave on that one.
a buddy of mine ground 18 hardened S30V blades (about 2" blades) with one 80 grit 3M967 cubitron and it still had plenty of life left to it. they eat steel well at a slower speed (1750 or so) with a little less pressure. let us know how you make out

Me too! Higgy I think we could combine shops with no trouble. How bout it? :D I could really take advantage of all your cool tools, and you'd enjoy having someone to sweep the place out once in a while. Not to mention, help you dispose of all those full cans of beer.
