I'm lookin', as the title indicates, for cold war/spy movies of the 60's.
I'm thinking along the lines of Topaz(1969), which by the way is a great movie.

Thanks a lot for your help
Peter.

Dang-it, North by Northwest came out in 1959 and Telefon was 1977. Ahhhh, the original Manchurian Candidate fills the bill nicely.....

......and the first six Bond films.

Two PBS Series: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's People. Both star Alec Guiness. I think they're as good as can be and believe they meet your "cold war" criteria though from an English point-of-view.

Thank you everybody, keep 'em coming.
50's and maybe even 70's are fine too :D

Yeah, the Connery Bond movies are true classics.

The Bedford Incident and, of course, Dr. Stangelove.:D

All good stuff; the Harry Palmer films were very good Micheal Caine as Palmer, of course....The Ipcress File, a couple of others.

On The Beach was one of the scariest films ever made to my mind, growing up in the "duck and cover" 50s as I did.

"Seven Days in May" and, though not exactly a Cold War themed thriller, "The Day of the Jackal" is worth checking out.

If we're going TV then let's not forget:
