I have all of the knives in black, but have put off buying the other colors because of the red being so hard to find.
But today a red one arrived in my mail box. It doesn't have the box or paperwork, but now I feel the urge to start on the other colors.
Now I am wondering, is the correct term for this, 60TXR, and for those of you who already have one, is the box labeled as such?

Hate to see a man twisting in the er, ah, WIND...as it were.

Sorry I can't answer your question MountainWIND, but that RED one must be hard to find, as it wasn't shown on the flyer...

...or even on the archived picture from the old Schrade website...

Your logic sounds good though...:D

The reason these are hard to find? The 6OTX itself was only produced for one year (more or less), 2003. Red? It was an sfo for ______ and produced in even fewer numbers. Sears or L. L. Bean is my thinking. Larry? Do you remember? I know you once knew.

Oh, and the standard caveat: TBLLC is now reproing both the 6OTX and 7OTX in China if memory serves me correctly, which it more and more often does not. :o

The red was for Sears, there was also a blue one produced for Bass Pro (6OTXBP) this had different clip. I have not seen it turn up anywhere since.

Would this be an accurate guess of the Schrade number for the red Sears SFO?

Perhaps you can tell us why the changes were made between the 6OTX and the 7OTX? Was it an objection by another manufacturer?

ISC_RIP,
Thanks for the pointer. Great memory. Found this in the file.

Bass Pro was one of many sfo's Ive seen tonight for the 6OTX's but all the others used a standard color. Mostly black.
