Hi Guys, a quick question , on the 61OT it was listed up till the 90's , Has anybody see a 61OT in a tan/mustard box , all mine so far have been the 3 line tang and brown wood grain slip box,

I don't recall for sure seeing a 61OT in that particular box, but after doing some deductive reasoning (without a conclusion), I would say maybe, with no concrete evidence. I think I might have seen one on Ebay, but no proof to back it up.

The 106OT, the 34OTY, and 8OTY all started in 1990, and I have seen those three only in the Mustard (Tan)/Black box like you mention. I believe 1990 was the last production year for the 61OT.

The 89OT began it's run in 1989, and I have seen it in both boxes (actually the 89OT was in the newer one piece wood grain box), so the 61OT ended it's run right at the time of the box change (this might not be true). I'm sure if they had a surplus of the Brown Woodgrain Box, they went ahead and used them up.

Like shields and stamps, us collectors make a bigger deal out of boxes than the attention that was given to them during production.

Speaking of the color of the schrade boxes, some time ago somebody posted pictures of the various schrade boxes, their colors and the years they were released. Not being smart enought to find this, does anyone know where I can find this here? Thanks.
Tom

Dang that's a nice picture. I was wondering if they did ship in that box if they still had the 3 line stamp. Yup. I like "Slim"

Thanks, Rusty.

yea thanks rusty, its the first tan box 61OT ive seen. the 61OT is my favorite apart from the openstock 861 nothing realy shares the slim clip blade, the muscrat is close, its nice sleek but being 4' its big enough to work. when was the change over from the three line stamp? also did the UH's have the three line too? Paul
