I was just looking at the knives at Cabelas and ran across one of the new offerings, at a price of $ 649.99. Oh my! One has to ask if you are even buying the Buck brand anymore at that price, or does the Yellowhorse brand take over in full for a "Vantage"???

Yep she's way out of my league but who knows maybe some people that really like it and have that kind of money will buy them.I don't have a Yellow Horse yet,if I ever get one it will be a 110.Like my Father used to tell me,the true value of anything is what some one is willing to pay.

Well,I love buck knives, but i'll never drop that kind of money on one.I won't even buy a ghosttown, and I absolutely love those,if i was rich i would own every ghosttown i could get my hands on.LOL

A knife that looks like a dried-up dog turd with a blade.

When it goes on clearance at $249 it will still be an incredible rip-off.

Cabela's is insulting our intelligence--probably the worst case of that I've seen in my life.

I was in Cabela's the other week and in the Bargain Cave it seemed like most of the stuff they were selling in there was still more expensive then you could buy it online. Let's see, would I rather buy something used that I can't return or something new for less money?

Maybe they are expanding too quickly and need to make up for the expense buy over charging.

I think the owners of the trophy ranches or lodges in Wyoming and Montana buy that stuff.

It just seems like crazy money for a Vantage with a jazzed up handle. I wish this was not even related to Buck, as it is so outragous in price, almost insulting.

The retail list price for that knife in Bucks catalog is $650.00 so Cabela's is asking full price. The scales are onyx instead of the standard stuff. Worth it? Not in my book at that price and I'm a big Yellowhorse fan.

However! The solution is simple if you think they are too expensive. Don't buy one!

I agree with your statment, however I am just shocked to see such a price. I own a few Bucks and never had any intention of purchasing that one. Let me try again....is this a Buck offering from Buck or does Yellowhorse purchase, modify & resell under the Yellowhorse brand? I just ask because Cabelas lists this as a Buck knife on their website. Thanks.

This is direct from Buck's 2010 Catalog, so yes, it's a Buck offering.
