Are they going for that much now?

yeah...650$...still, I prefer to contact David Beck and ask him a brand new one for 400$! David is a really nice guy to handle with and he still make this knife! just drop him an E-mail and let him know you want a WSK, he'll make a new one for you much cheaper than the used one on E-bay ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmm, that's quite a premium for that ebay one. I guess for the person who has to have one now and not wanting to wait to have one made, it might be worth it.

To each his own.

For $650, you can buy a Beck from Dave and one from TOPS.

Ebay is crazy, but there is a buyer for everything, I guess.

If you will notice, no one has bid on the thing.

It does look good, though.

It actually went for $700!! Unbelievable!!

At least it's good to know that my WSK is probably the only investment that's ever went up in value... :grumpy:

Do you want to sell yours? ;)

Can anyone explain the reason for this? Bad experience with Ebay, perhaps?

Thanks.

Also, the seller is in Australia so maybe there aren't many WSK out there, so more rare = more expensive.

And someone wasn't willing to wait 1 year for his knife.

I've paid a premium to buy something rather than wait a long time for the price to come down, so I can understand why someone bought it. Supply and demand.

Is something really overpriced if there is a buyer willing to pay for it?

Holy cow! I do a search for WSK and found this...:)

I was the seller, to add to conversation, I placed on for $650 as that was what the knife cost me to get it into the country, I was merely getting money back that I had in it. If it didn't sell, then I would keep her. A great knife - reluctant sale.

Also, I have seen 3 other trackers (wsk) sold on eBay over the past couple of years and seen them all around the same price. I was bidding against one of them and it hit $1200 USD! I had capped myself at $1000 USD so did not go anywhere higher.

I agree, what matters about the price if you want something bad enough. And, I am the impatient type, so if $200 odd is all that stands in the way of having something now as opposed to 6 months, then I would grab it... :)

You could be dead tomorrow! Live life to it's fullest people!

All the best.

Gundy,

Congratulations on your sell. I would love to have had it, but was not able to move on it.

I believe it sold high, but as you say it cost you well enough just to get it into your country. Someone else said price is a relative thing, and I have to agree with that, but when you don't have the cash in your pocket it does not matter if it costs $20.

Sorry you had to part with such a nice piece.

BTW, how did you like the sheath set up? I noticed it was left handed.

Would you have anymore pics of that knife?

Thanks.

LOL! Will do Oli.

Here are some pics - I had a whole swag of them but can not find them. BTW, the sheath was right handed. Well, thats what I call a right handed sheath.
