California - Penal Code Section 653k. Every person who
possesses in the passenger's or driver's area of any motor
vehicle in any public place or place open to the public,
carries upon his or her person, and every person who
sells, offers for sale, exposes for sale, loans,
transfers, or gives to any other person a switchblade
knife having a blade over two inches in length is guilty
of a misdemeanor.
For the purposes of this section a "switchblade knife"
is a knife having the appearance of a pocketknife, and
shall include a spring-blade knife, snap-blade knife,
gravity knife or any other similar type knife, the blade
or blades of which are two or more inches long and which
can be released automatically by a flick of a button,
pressure on the handle, flip of the wrist or other
mechanical device, or is released by the weight of the
blade or by any other type of mechanism whatsoever...

So HOW do CA people get autos/balis with >2" blades? Legally? The law says I can't buy/sell/give yet I have bought many autos and balis from B&M stores in CA. Does it make me a criminal to give my wife or father in law a UT6? I have had 3-4 653k arrests because I was stupid. Now I only carry my autos in my home. But how do I get my auto to my home? I had to buy or recieve it, right?

most, if not all, auto dealers in the state reserve the products for active military or law enforcement. many in other states require a current copy of a military or law enforcement id card.

note the law does not prohibit purchase, but nearly every other form of possession. so, if you are able to find a dealer willing to sell to you, your purchase is perfectly legal. within the letter of the law, it would be illegal for you to give a banned auto to another person. however, there is the question of who would enforce that element if you gave one to a friend/relative.

not saying you should willfully do something illegal, but there are many crimes which are simply unenforceable.

No s#it!

While under UCMJ, one of the stipulations was against "sodomy". In fact, my DS told our platoon the only legal act is "missionary" as all others fall under sodomy. How do you enforce that? Does CID regularly peep the windows of on post housing?

CID is creepy... They can "legally" smoke dope with a soldier to get him busted.
