Would anyone be willing to post some side by side photos of their Calf Roper next to a comparable Schrade? (Old Timer or Uncle Henry works too). I've been looking at a Calf Roper and it appears a bit more stocky. Unless that's just the way the photos look. Blades open and closed would be appreciated. Thanks.

While i don't have any pictures of the 2 side by side, what i can tell you is that the 66 is a tad longer than a schrade 34ot
also a tad thicker as i have both, 1- 66 autumn jigged bone and 1 -66 ebony wood. usually carry the 34ot on the job and the 66 autumn jigged off the job and on weekends. both are superb knives, can't go wrong either way. by the way i have larger hands and they both feel really well in hand.
also don't compair to the schrade 8ot as that one IS much longer than the 66. hope this helps

Poor lighting but hopefully this helps -a 34 and an 881 Open Stock along with a 66. The 34 and 66 are similar thicknesses but the 66 feels much beefier in hand

That helps significantly. I should've been a bit more specific as I was wondering the size compared to an 881 or 8OT. I may have to give the 66 some serious consideration.

If you want any more specific photos let me know. I don't like to pocket carry the 8x sized Schrades but the 66 doesn't bother me at all. The main blade is ground thicker than my 881, but the 881 is .006" behind the edge, hard to find anything thinner than that.

Beauty and the beast. The Schrade medium stockman is probably my all time favourite pattern and available in lots of handle cover materials. The 66 lacks its grace but it is an ok knife and if you have never handled the Schrade you wouldn't know better.

The closest comparison would be a schrade walden 890, which the 66 is very similar to. I have a couple of worn examples I can post later to compare (if I don't forget), but I can tell you the biggest difference is the schrade has a much slimmer handle.

Here is a catalog cut of the 890

I keep pulling this thread up to look at the 66. I have a feeling if I actually put my hands on one I'd just buy it.
