I have now read over these handouts enough and with my second cup of coffee and Steve Martin's model has the wrap around handle with 1 red micarta spacer, 69-70 with a 2 line stamp. My sheets passed out by Joe H. do not specify the sheath other than a plastic sheath for the Nemo or leather sheath. So, really based on this it could be either model knife and the leather sheath was not specified.
Then once we get in 1971 models items change: still a 2 line stamp w/ partially serrated blade, slab style micarta, full tang handle and a swinging leather sheath. Plus, the Nemo was discontinued in this year. In 1972, the models now have a 3 line stamp with the model number and no Nemo's were in production. Other features are the same as those in 1971.
I have in my collection a 1973 model 124 w/ a lanyard hole and swivel sheath and aluminum butt. Then a little later model 124 w/o the lanyard hole and a snoopy sheath. I also have a birch handled model. DM
